Annual AZOU Leadership Congress 2018

On October 20, 2018, the Congress of the All-Ukrainian Union of Public Organizations “Association of Animal Protection Organizations of Ukraine” took place in Kyiv.

The event was attended by 26 AZOU members from various regions of the country, including representatives from Kyiv, Kharkiv, Odesa, and other oblasts.

Participants reviewed the AZOU Board’s report for the past two years and approved an 8-year strategic plan with the mission of “recognition of animal rights at the level of the Constitution of Ukraine.”

The organization identified twelve priority areas of activity, including legislation, participation in forming state policy regarding animals, advocacy, and educational outreach work.

The following leadership was elected at the Congress:

• President: Asya Vilhelmivna Serpinska (Kyiv)
• Vice Presidents: Maryna Surkova (Kharkiv), Alla Losik (Rivne), Natalya Vyshnevska (Lviv)
• Board Members: Zoya Savchenko, Natalya Suchko, Valeriya Stepanenko
