The Association of Animal Protection Organizations of Ukraine presented a report on its activities for 2017-2018.

Animal Protection Movement Development

The organization helped create 12 animal protection structures, five of which joined AZOU. Nine organizations submitted membership applications.

Legislative Work

AZOU members co-authored bill 6598 on implementing European animal protection standards. The organization held working meetings at the Ministry of Ecology and the Verkhovna Rada.

AZOU receives several daily calls from across Ukraine with complaints about animal cruelty. The organization provides sample applications for law enforcement.

Other Activities

AZOU participated in over 40 conferences, inspected shelters in Lutsk, Kryvyi Rih, Berdiansk and other cities, organized roundtables, developed guidelines for police, and facilitated the creation of forensic veterinary research bureaus.
