Raids Against Animal Resellers in Kharkiv
In Kharkiv, the public organization “Animal Aid League” together with volunteers conducted three raids against so-called “box sellers” — people who collect stray animals for resale.
The problem of “box sellers” is described as a “business built on animal deaths,” where resellers take money from people supposedly for rehoming kittens and puppies, but in reality abandon or kill the animals instead of finding them homes.
The organization emphasizes the need for involvement of the National Police and active participation of citizens in combating this phenomenon.
The authors call for educational outreach among the population about the benefits of sterilizing pets, since uncontrolled breeding is the root of the problem — people themselves create offspring that then falls into the hands of resellers.
The main message: sterilize your pets and do not give animals to resellers.
