Free Dog Sterilization in Pervomaysk
The Housing and Communal Services Department of the Pervomaysk City Council signed an agreement with the district veterinary clinic for animal sterilization in January 2017.
Stray dogs living in packs on the city streets create a public problem. Some residents feed these animals, while others do not want such neighbors. The main cause of this situation is human irresponsibility — citizens abandon their pets on the streets.
According to the Law of Ukraine “On Protection of Animals from Cruelty,” the regulation of stray animal populations is carried out through the biosterilization method. This method is effective, environmentally practical, and widely used in European countries.
Dog sterilization is performed by veterinary clinic specialists completely free of charge. Every city resident can sterilize both a pet and a stray animal. A preventive rabies vaccination is also administered during the procedure.
